Can you keep a full-time job, start a business and still have a life?
Life can be challenging, and one of it’s most challenging things is managing the time that you have. A lot of us wish there were more time in a day, but there isn’t, so you have to find a way to manage that time.
Managing your life is the key to being able to start a business while keeping your full time job, and to still have a family and, or social life.
There is an article over at Entrepreneur.com titled “Go Ahead, Start That Side Business”, it offers some great time, from 3 entrepreneurs, on how to have a full-time job, sideline business and a great life. I have to say they pretty much stated what I have always told my clients when asked about working full time and having a business and that’s these three things:

Make sure you are passionate or excited about your small business, that it feels less like work, because if you are tired from working a full-time job during the week you won’t feel like working some more unless it’s something you want to do.

Save time for each thing, set up reserved time for working on your business and make sure you respect it so that you can use the rest of the time for your life.

Get support, sit down with each member of your friends and family that this change could affect and make sure they understand what the sacrifices are for, they will understand. If you can’t sell them on your idea to spend time on the business than maybe that’s a sign.
Passion, time and support are the three biggest keys to starting a business on the side of your normal life and full time job.
